24th March 2021: Kainé and  DeMontfort University bring you a day of events and discussion on the theme of freedom. Young people aged 16-18 will be participating in Sing Freedom workshops (by arrangement), asking questions of a panel about freedom in social media, discussing all kinds of freedoms in workshops led by DMU student societies, and performing in our Freedom Arts Showcase.

Sing Freedom workshops (by arrangement)

Our experienced choir leader offers 1-hour online workshops in Gospel singing for performing arts students aged 16-18. By arrangement for groups of up to 15.

14:00 – 15:00    

Youth Question Time ( YouTube live broadcast)

Young people ask a panel about freedom on social media. Student representatives from colleges will pose questions and take part in the discussion.

16:00 – 17:00     Freedom: the Main Event ( YouTube live broadcast)

Speakers, workshops, discussion on the theme of Freedom. Confirmed speakers include representatives from the  Stephen Lawrence Research Centre at DeMontfort University and  Councillor Sue Hunter.

18:00 – 19:00     

Freedom Arts Showcase ( YouTube live broadcast)

Live performances from young people on the theme of freedom. Includes music, spoken word and dance.
